William S. Carey Memorial Scholarship
The West Point Island Civic Association is offering a $750 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is the child or grandchild of a current member of the West Point Island Civic Association and has been a member for the 2 years prior. This scholarship was established to honor the memory of William S. Carey, a founding member of the WPICA and leader in the secession movement of West Point Island from Dover Township (currently Toms River) to the Borough of Lavallette. This scholarship requires an essay themed “My Memories of West Point Island.”
Applicants must provide:
- A personal essay titled "My Memories of West Point Island".
- Proof of relationship to current WPICA members (child/grandchild).
